For decades we have cheered and jeered them. Professional athletes our hero’s; some of us treat them like Gods or family members, we are emotionally tied to them. Maybe it’s because these select specimens have the ability to do and live the life many fans would give just about anything to to to do. But as it is they are mere human beings vulnerable to the exploitations and temptations that all of us are. Weakness is a human trait yet most fans find it intolerable especially when it comes to cheating. Yes cheating in sports, it happens and fans can be unforgiving of this act. Performance enhancing drugs have been such a blight on today’s game and it’s athletes. It’s cheating and many athletes have fallen to the temptation to do them. You often hear through social media, talk shows and relationship experts what women should look for in a man. There's nothing wrong with this advice but Shouldn't it be just as important to ask men what they look for and or expect from a woman? Men take just as much value in their self worth as women and want to be appreciated for it. Most men would like to have someone who is supportive, caring, thoughtful, attentive but not smothering. They also want a woman that has her own goals individuality and independence. At the same time most men don’t want to be hit over the head with those qualities. Everything starts with a dream. Martin Luther King had a dream that he formulated into an idea. That idea sparked a plan on how to make that dream a reality. What started as one man’s dream motivated a people to change a nation. You see those of us that lived through and came after the Civil Rights Movement are a continuing living cell of that dream. From Dr. King’s dream came the idea that a skinny unknown Black senator could become the First Black president of these United States. It may not have been Barack Obama’s dream to be president but through the Dream of Dr.King he began to envision the idea that a young senator from Chicago, Il. could be our first Black President. From his idea he formulated a plan of stirring inspiration and hope within the people. That plan sparked a movement to once again change the face of this nation. Many couples that have had cheating enter their relationship will probably say they never saw it coming. It’s most likely that they did but chose to turn a blind eye to it. Denial is a defense mechanism in an attempt not only to protect the heart but the mind. If I don’t acknowledge it I don’t have to deal with it. It doesn't exist.
